Deck Your Doors for Christmas!

11/12/2025

Make a heartfelt, festive first impression on your friends and visitors this Christmas by decorating the first thing they will see – your front door! It doesn’t have to be complicated, just a simple spray of foliage, a beautiful wide-ribbon with a single bell, or even a small basket of flowers suspended from a festive ribbon. And why not paint your front door while you are at it!!

Australian Home Beautiful magazine recently ran an entire feature on festive ideas for front doors, each featuring a brand new coat of Wattyl Aqua Trim paint. These ideas are far too good not to share, so here they are – which is your favourite?

Spruce and Baldrick Green

The theme is deep, forest green in the form of a coat of Wattyl Baldrick Green plus a single spray of Spruce foliage, rich with scarlet berries – and a pure white ribbon.

Berries and Paper White

A simple wreath of red berries and traditional festive red velvet bow – shown to great effect on a warm white front door in Wattyl Paper White.

Pine Cones and Cotswald

A group of rustic pine cones (make sure it is an odd number, they’ll hang better) are suspended by a flourish of satin ribbons in silver and denim blue – all beautifully framed by a front door in the deeply sophisticated blue/charcoal of Wattyl Cotswald.

Take a Bow - and Forest Felt

A big, bright, beautiful bow – in this case featuring a mattress-ticking stripe in black and white – attached to a front door looking resplendent in Wattyl Forest Felt. To ensure your bow retains its shape, use a little hot glue and a few discreetly positioned pipe cleaners.

Ring in the Festive Cheer - and Puffin Watch

Nothing quite says Christmas like a few brass bells, a sprig of foliage from the garden and all held in place by a simple ribbon – beautifully displayed on a front door freshly painted in Wattyl Puffin Watch.

Vibrant, Joyous - and Kuduk

This beautiful, handmade wreath is simply bursting with colour and happiness. Ideally make this from your garden and then display with a simple satin ribbon on a front door painted in the vibrant pink of Wattyl Kuduk. What’s not to love!
