Find a Local Painter - FAQs
The Wattyl Find a Local Painter program connects you with professional painters in your area.
The Find a Local Painter program matches you with local painters based on your project requirements. Once you submit basic details of the project and your contact information, you will receive an email from Wattyl with up to three painters in your area. You can contact them directly to discuss your project in detail and schedule a time for them to quote your project.
Due to privacy, Wattyl does not provide your contact details to any painters.
Instead, we ask that you contact each painter individually to provide detailed information on your project and request a quote. Any information you choose to provide to the prospective painters will constitute the details they receive.
Using the Wattyl Find a Local Painter program is free for users. You will only pay the painter directly should you employ them for any services. Our program does not charge any fees for connecting you with professionals. A painter should not charge for providing quotes.
Here are some points to consider:
- Get two to three quotes
- Ask for references or even visit a completed project
- Ask to see qualifications, licenses or accreditation & proof of insurance if applicable
- Contact your local Master Painters Association to check the painter’s credentials
- Research painters online to check reviews and additional information about their work.
- Carefully read all contracts before signing
- Make sure they use high-quality paints and stains from Wattyl
When you are briefing the painter/s it’s important to be accurate and provide as much detail as possible, including the type of painting (interior or exterior), the size of the area, any specific colour or finish preferences, and your budget.
Ensuring you’re providing clear details will help potential painters give accurate quotes and understand your needs.
Your appointment of any painter featured in the Program constitutes an agreement between you and the painter. Any disputes or complaints will need to be resolved directly between you and that painter.
After your project is completed, consider leaving a review on the painter’s Google or Facebook profile. Your feedback will help other users make informed decisions and also assist painters in maintaining high service standards.
