Blacktown Hospital Redevelopment Stage 1

The Blacktown Hospital Redevelopment Stage 1 project included a 5-storey new inpatient building, 185 in-patient beds, additional outpatient clinics, a new in-centre renal dialysis unit and cancer care centre, medical imaging, pharmacy and retail spaces. Completed in 2016, the $312 million project was designed following Green Star requirements by architects Jacobs.

Wattyl was selected as the preferred coatings supplier for this project due to the excellent low VOC interior product properties, supported with accurate colour sample services.

The building interior was painted using Wattyl I.D, in a variety of bright colours, with the intended purpose of designating different sections of the hospital. Externally, Wattyl Solagard®️ was used in various areas, matching the large facade panels which make up much of the external structures. GranoImpact was also applied to the hospital exterior, delivering a high profile textured finish.
