Selling Houses Australia S14 Episode 4: The House That Robert Built
Each home featured on Selling Houses Australia has a story behind it, and this one was no different. A family home located in Sydney’s North West, filled with 65 years of cherished memories. The owner of the property has since moved on to a care facility in the later stages of his life and his daughter’s had the bittersweet job of putting their beloved childhood home on the market to support their father and give him the care he needs.
What was once a warm family home built by Robert, a young engineer in the 1950s on a beautifully charming street in Denistone, Sydney. Designed with small pokey rooms and separated living spaces – to suit a popular style of living at the time; this unique property was in much need of a modern day transformation.
The goal for this makeover was to inject new life back into the spaces within, bring back the street appeal and highlight the potential of the property and its impressive 1000sqm block. Wendy looked to reworking the floor plan, opening the smaller spaces, and making the home feel lighter and brighter. Dennis cleared out the overgrown garden and created an outdoor entertaining space. Resulting in an outstanding outcome for the family.
